Ex-England footballer Adam Johnson jailed
for child sex offences is earning around
£5,000 a week while he sits behind bars.
Before starting his six-year sentence, the
millionaire invested his fortune into
property and high-interest funds, reports
Daily Star.
Johnson, who used
to earn around
£60,000 a week
playing for Premiere
League Sunderland,
will still be bagging
around £250,000 a
year.
A source said the 29-
year-old had a good team of financial
advisers behind him and will be ‘extremely
wealthy when he is freed’.
‘He had the big footballer house and the
cars but he’s never been really super-
flamboyant with his cash,’ they said.
The football star is currently having a £2
million mansion built for when he gets out.
He was jailed in
March for grooming
and sexual activity
with a 15-year-old
schoolgirl.
His ex-girlfriend
Stacey Flounders was
pictured clubbing in
Dubai in May, it has
been speculated she recently moved back
into their home amid reconciliation
rumours.
Johnson’s parents and sister are believed
to visit him regularly.
