Manchester United manager Jose
Mourinho believes he will need at least two
more transfer windows to fix his ‘broken’
squad at Old Trafford.
United’s draw with
Arsenal this weekend
made it one win in six
in the league, and
that came against
bottom-of-the table
Swansea City before
the international
break.
Despite a heavy
summer of spending with big names like
Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eric Bailly
and Henrikh Mkhitaryan coming in, the Red
Devils’ squad still seems some way off
fulfilling its potential. Mourinho is keen for further additions in
key areas over the next couple of transfer
windows, and believes it will take time for
the changes the club needs to really take
effect, according to the Daily Record.
The Portuguese tactician also still feels he
is having to make do with a number of
failed signings from the David Moyes and
Louis van Gaal eras, where several
experienced heads from the Sir Alex
Ferguson reign were ushered out of the
club.
‘We need quality players, but you can not
do it in one to two transfer windows,’ a
source close to Mourinho explained.
‘You cannot buy four or five players in one
go of the level that we need.’
