Bayern Munich have made Liverpool boss
Jurgen Klopp their number one target to
replace Carlo Ancelotti at the German club.
Klopp spent seven
years at Borussia
Dortmund challenging
Bayern for the
Bundesliga title and
the German giants
have been alerted to
their former rival
once again after his
spell at Liverpool.
The German has turned Liverpool into
potential title contenders in less than a
year as the Reds sit second in the Premier
League table after 13 games.
Ancelotti is under severe pressure in
Germany with his side six points behind RB
Leipzig in the league and a humiliating 3-2
defeat to minnows Rostov in the
Champions League last week.
The former Chelses boss’ failure to lead
his side to the top spot in the group,
coupled with their lacking league form has
prompted the hierarchy at Bayern to seek
potential replacements.
The Mirror claim that search has led them
straight to Merseyside as Klopp continues
to impress in the Premier League.
Klopp, however, is tied down to a massive
six-year deal at Anfield after recommitting
himself to the club over the summer.
Two cup finals since October and a string
of impressive additions has helped reignite
Klopp’s reputation after a disappointing
final season with Dortmund.
And the chance to coach the biggest club
in his home country could well tempt the
49-year-old back to Germany.
