The accident is said to have occurred at around 7:am at the Unguwar-Iliya village. This is according to the interview granted to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday, by Abdu Bagadawa, the FRSC Sector Commander.
Detailing the events around the tragedy, Bagadawa explained that a Volkswagen wagon, with registration number KAF 608 XA, carrying 18 passengers had collided with a trailer belonging to Dangote, registered TRN 130 XA, parked by the road side.
He noted that the Volkswagen had a burst tyre, and therefore, skid off the road and hit the parked trailer.
Thirteen of the eighteen passengers conveyed in the bus died immediately while the remaining five sustained various degree of injuries.
According to Mr. Bagadawa, the bodies and injured victims were conveyed to Malumfashi General Hospital.
