
A murder investigation has been launched
following the death of a five-year-old boy
days after he was badly injured in a park.
Police were called early on Monday
morning to a hospital in South London
where the child had been admitted with
critical head injuries.
A man was arrested
and subsequently
charged with grievous
bodily harm with
intent and is currently
remanded in custody
to appear at crown
court.
The boy died on Tuesday afternoon and
the investigation was passed to the Met
Police’s Homicide and Major Crime
Command.
Officers are looking to speak to anyone
who saw an incident take place involving a
man and child between 5.15pm and
6:45pm on Sunday.
Police will be conducting appeals at the
park one week on. A post-mortem was
carried out today.
