Striding around campus dressed in varsity
stash used to be the epitome of
sportswear chic.
But once you graduate, it’s no longer as
acceptable to spend all day in saggy
Canterburys and your college netball togs.
So it’s just as well that
Jack Wills is aiding the
transition from campus
leisure centre to work
gym by releasing their
first ever sports
collection for women.
The Jack Wills Sporting
Goods range is made
up of sports bras, tank tops and leggings –
all made from high performance, form-fitting,
technical fabrics.
‘They’re designed to fit for life, whether
you’re running a 10K or for the bus,’ the
brand says.
They’re available to buy from the flagship
store in Covent Garden, Birmingham, Belfast,
Edinburgh and Cribbs Causeway, as well
as online .
‘We are really excited to launch our first ever
sportswear collection for women,’ says Peter
Williams, Founder and CEO of Jack Wills.
‘For years our customers have been asking
for a sporting range, coinciding with a
noticeable shift towards healthier lifestyles
and a change in the way athleisure is
perceived, and we’re happy that we’re able to
respond to our customers’ demand.
The collection has been designed in
partnership with P&R Texteis – a family-run
manufacturing company that specialises in
technical sports garments and which claims
to have developed garments for thousands of
Olympic athletes.
All the items are quick drying, antibacterial
and either sun-blocking or thermally
protected.
But as Peter says, these pieces look as good
running on a treadmill as they do dossing
around at home.
