Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has sent a
message to Jose Mourinho ahead of his
side’s FA Cup clash against Manchester
United.
Chelsea won 4-0 when these sides met in the Premier League earlier in the season, with the Italian getting the better of the manager sacked by the Blues last term.
Mourinho is known for his tendency to get into spats with rival managers, and has been cranking up the mind games as usual ahead of this tie.
Still, Conte doesn’t seem too phased by the
Portuguese’s antics, and reminded him that
talking off the pitch isn’t enough to win
football matches.
When asked about Mourinho’s mind games,
Conte said: ‘Mind games don’t bring you to
win. The most important thing is what
happens on the pitch. To prepare the team in the right way, with good organisation.
‘To talk football. To think about my team, to
try through work to improve my players.
These are the most important things for me
and for every coach.
‘The mind games… they’re strange no? It’s
strange to ask me this.
‘My players and I are focused on the game
on the pitch, on the work, and to try to
improve every day.’
